MEETING FOR FAMILIES OF PAST/CURRENT/POTENTIAL HENRY SCHOOL STUDENTS

In October 2002, a group of parents began meeting monthly. Some were Henry School families and others were considering Henry for their children. This group continues to meet and helps families gather information and make informed decisions.

The next 3 Henry Group meetings will take place on:

Tuesday, October 20

Tuesday, November 17

Monday, December 7

(Henry Principal Caren Trantas will attend the December meeting)

· Meetings run from 7-8:30, and begin on time.

· Meetings are held at the Peters’ home: 526 Arbutus St.

· Please bring a small snack or beverage to share.

· Childcare is not provided, but we can recommend sitters.

Charles Wolcott Henry Day

Charles Wolcott's Birthday was in October. In honor of his anniversary and to celebrate the many achievements C. W. Henry students have made over the 100 years since the opening of Henry school, we would like to dedicate a day each October as the C. Wolcott Henry Day for the Alumni and current Henry community.

Past Events:

The Henry School choir (led by Nikki Paulino) performed at Mt. Airy Day on Sat., May 2, 2009 at 11:30am! They performed an eclectic mix of songs. The group was comprised of 17 fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh graders. Soloists were also featured!

Friday 1/02/09 -- Henry School Holiday Get Together -- C.W.Henry friends and classmates gathered on Friday, January 2nd for pizza, beer, and conversation from 5PM to 9PM at the newest Mount Airy hang-out - Earth, Bread & Brewery, 7136 Germantown Ave.

May 30, 2008 -- Judy Kaplow held a wonderful celebration dinner for the C. W. Henry School class of 1962 on May 30, 2008. See video of the event!

During the week of the Centennial celebrations in May, a multitude of activities and events took place at and near Henry School, including:

Tuesday 5/27/08 -- Sock Hop for all grades.

Thursday 5/29/08 -- 9am Assembly: Fashion and songs through the decades. Visitors toured the building and saw history displays in classrooms.

Centennial Dinner and Dance -- Current and former alumni, faculty, parents, and friends of Henry got together to celebrate 100 years of the school with food, music, memories, and dancing.
